FEED THE LESS PRIVILEGED PROJECT (BREAD OF MERCY): An Annual Outreach of Compassion by Prince Nwankwo

A. Project Overview Feed the Less Privileged Project (Bread of Mercy), is a compassionate yearly project spearheaded by Prince Nwankwo that takes food, happiness, and human touch to the doorstep of the less privileged. The project has touched lives in forgotten areas of our society since 2023, not only providing meals, but hope. With Bread of Mercy, we don’t just feed the poor; we eat with them, we laugh with them, and we tell them they are not forgotten. It is a journey to lift hearts, to bring back dignity, and to share moments of common love and humanity.

B. Mission To bring compassion to life by feeding and spending quality time with the less privileged in their own environments; offering food, companionship, games, and gifts, while building a more empathetic society through practical acts of love.

C. Core Activities:

  • Cooking and delivering warm meals directly to homes of the less privileged.
  • Spending meaningful time with the beneficiaries and their neighbours.
  • Organizing “Play and Win” games for children, filled with laughter, music, and excitement.
  • Awarding gifts and cash prizes to participants to uplift their spirit and reward engagement.
  • Eating together as one united family, fostering bonds beyond socioeconomic status.
  • Providing cash and care packages to selected families, including foodstuffs and essentials.

D. 2025 Edition: A Day of Joy and Tears of Gratitude

The 2025 edition of Bread of Mercy was held in April 2025 at the compound of Mr. Anayo, a visually impaired elderly man in Anambra State, Nigeria. Mr. Anayo, despite his challenges, remains a humble and cherished member of the community. Over the past five years, his family has received over ₦500,000 worth of support from Prince Technology and Community Development Foundation, including food and financial aid. The event was vibrant and heartfelt. We danced, shared stories, and played games with children from the neighbourhood. The children won cash and gift prizes worth over ₦150,000, adding excitement and reward to their joy. But the most unforgettable moment came when Mr. Anayo, deeply moved, broke into tears. With a trembling voice, he said: “Prince, you don’t know how happy I am right now. I can’t see you because of my condition, but God will keep you for this generation.”..!! His words echoed the very essence of this project: planting the seed of hope in the land of despair.

E. Impact since Inception:

  • Over 500 individuals; including children, have been fed, celebrated, and uplifted.
  • Community bonds have been strengthened through love-driven outreach.
  • Forgotten voices have been heard and honoured.

The Feed the Less Privileged Project (Bread of Mercy) is not just about food, it is about healing hearts, restoring hope, and building a legacy of compassion. Through shared meals, shared laughter, and shared humanity, we continue to prove that even in darkness, mercy can still shine brightly.

F. Primary Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) Addressed by the Project

1. SDG 2 – Zero Hunger

The core activity of the project is providing nutritious meals to the less privileged. By feeding hundreds of individuals annually and aiming to expand to thousands more, the project directly addresses hunger and malnutrition.

2. SDG 1 – No Poverty

Through the provision of food, cash prizes, financial aid, and essential care packages, the project supports poor households and helps reduce the burden of poverty. The direct financial support to individuals like Mr. Anayo also contributes to socioeconomic upliftment.

3. SDG 10 – Reduced Inequalities

Bread of Mercy promotes inclusion by bridging social divides. Eating together with the less privileged, organizing games, and spending quality time with them fosters a sense of equality, dignity, and shared humanity.

4. SDG 3 – Good Health and Well-being

Access to food and emotional support contributes to both physical and mental well-being. The companionship, joy, and emotional connection fostered during the outreach play a role in improving the overall quality of life for beneficiaries.

5. SDG 17 – Partnerships for the Goals

The project’s future vision emphasizes collaborations with NGOs, faith-based organizations, and corporate bodies. These partnerships are critical for scaling the initiative and sustaining its impact across communities.

A visually impaired man in Anambra State, Nigeria, receives the sum of ₦50,000 to support his family. You can see the tears of joy on his wife’s face. Indeed, the love and care we show to others give them hope for a better tomorrow

“Prince provides food items (Rice, Garri, Beans, and Yam), a radio, and cash support to a physically challenged elderly man, over 80 years old, who repairs footwear on the street to care for his wife and children. I pledge to leave the world a better place than I met it

G. Vision for the Future Our goal is to scale Bread of Mercy to multiple communities across Nigeria, reaching over 2,000 lives annually. We aim to partner with generous individuals, NGOs, faith-based groups, and corporate sponsors to sustain and expand this mission of mercy.
