Engr. Prince Nwankwo Shares Food Items Worth over N1.2 Million ($USD2500) to over 100 Physically Impaired Persons, Widows, and less Privileged Persons in Anambra State, Nigeria During the 2022 Christmas and New Year Festivities

My Food Sharing Exercise was conceptualized in December 2012 to achieve my core mandate of “giving back to my community and putting smiles on the faces of people in need”. Ever since then, my “food-sharing exercise and street help outreach programme” have provided over 1500 physically impaired persons, widows, and less privileged people in Nigeria with food items and cash to alleviate their suffering. As a civil servant, I save 30% of my monthly salary to impact those around me and plant the seed of home in the lives of those in need.

“Change agents are those who plant a seed that would one day grow to become a tree that will someday provide shade and fruits for people they might never live to see. These are the fruits of what we have sown collectively. We want to leave a legacy that the next generation will not forget in a hurry”- Engr. Prince Nwankwo’s Food Sharing Exercise was conceptualized in December 2014 to achieve his core mandate of giving back to his community and putting smiles on the faces of those in need.

“Sometimes we give, not because we have more than enough to eat and spare but because we value humanity and the impact we can make in the life of others with the little we offer them” – Engr. Prince Nwankwo

Ever since then, the food-sharing exercise has become a yearly event and has provided; over 700 physically impaired persons, widows, and less privileged people in Anambra State, Nigeria with food items. As a civil servant, Prince saves 30% of his basic salary every month to impact those around him and plant the seed of home in the lives of those in need. During the 2022 Christmas and New Year festivities, Engr. Prince Nwankwo distributed 100 bags of 10kg Rice, 2 bags of 50kg Rice, and 1 bag of 25kg Rice, and killed a Cow; everything was worth over N1.2 Million ($USD2500). These food items were shared with over 100 physically impaired persons, widows, and less privileged people within Anambra State, Nigeria. As an agent of change, Prince believes that his little difference can be the difference maker in someone’s life. Little wonder his “Food Sharing Exercise” has evolved into a phenomenon his people yearn for every Christmas. The physically impaired persons and widows are part of the vulnerable in society and the yuletide is one of the best periods to share and show love to these special groups of people.

Reaching out to Widows and the vulnerable is a divine injunction. Women and physically impaired persons go through a lot ranging from emotional and psychological trauma, deprivation and rejection, harmful traditional practices, and denial of their fundamental rights including sexual violence among others. As a civil servant, Engr. Prince Nwankwo map’s out 30% of his monthly salary to give back to his community. Every Christmas since 2014 the “Prince Nwankwo Food Sharing Exercise” started, he kills a Cow and shares the meat along with Rice and other food items to put smiles on the faces of these special groups of people (widows, physically impaired persons, and the less privileged).

Chidiomimi: A 12 Years Old Physically Challenged Boy

One of the beneficiaries “Chidiomimi” is a young boy of about 12 years old that is physically challenged; and moves with the help of a walking aid (clutches). Chidiomimi is from Ekwulobia in Aguata Local Government Area of Anambra State, Nigeria. He lost his father at an early stage of his life. The mother of Chidiomimi “fries Akara” and from the little gain she makes, she takes care of her three children. While narrating her ugly stories to me, Prince shed tears at what the Woman is going through to raise her three children. Prince was touched by her story, and apart from receiving food items and cash, he promised to train her physically challenged Son “Chidiomimi” from Primary school to Senior Secondary. Prince is also considering placing Chidiomimi’s mother on a monthly salary to alleviate her suffering.

Mercy takes action.!!! When you see people with a need that you can meet; please don’t pray about it, help them. Together, we can make this world a better place for all of us..!!!

Chidiomimi and his Mother: Indeed, the Woman and her Children are Suffering

“If we can do one random act of kindness daily, we might set the world in the right direction, and make it a better place for all of us; yes, we can” – Engr. Prince Nwankwo

Mrs. Ezeuno, a widow from my community (Nise in Awka South Local Government Area of Anambra State, Nigeria), lost her husband about six years ago. To make her case worst, one of her Sons is mentally ill. She expressed happiness over the food items (10kg of Rice and a reasonable quantity of Cow meat) that Prince gave her on 25th December 2022 for her Christmas celebration. You can see how empty her shop is. From this Shop, she feeds her children, including the one that is mentally ill (Mad). “I need Money to put some goods in my shop” – She said. Prince is making arrangements to help her with some Money to purchase some goods before the end of January 2023.

Mrs. Ezeuno is a Widow, and one of Her Sons is Mad: She Received 10kg of Rice and Cow Meat for her Christmas Celebration

“I thank you, my Son; you don’t know what these food items mean to me and my family; considering the difficult current economic condition of our country. I pray that God will continue to empower and enrich you to do more for Widows and those in need. Indeed, you are a blessing to your generation, and nothing bad will happen to you” – she said. Prince also gave money to her Son that is mentally ill. He encouraged them to be living in peace, and he left.

One of the beneficiaries
Engr. Prince Nwankwo discussing with Mr. Anayo on 24 December 2022. Mr. Anayo is blind

Mr. Anayo; from Anambra State, Nigeria, is blind. Mr. Anayo is an old Man of about 70 years old.
“I was a driver until my eyes got bad, so I stopped driving. I did everything humanly possible to remedy the situation, but to no avail until I completely my lost sight. Look at me; look at my children, none of them is doing anything meaningful. I am not talking about seeing again; I have completely lost my sight. My problem is hunger and money to be buying medicine” he said as tears gushed out of his eyes.
Mr. Anayo lost his sight three years ago; without anybody to take care of him. Prince came to know about his ugly situation last two years, and ever since then, he has been helping him the little he can. His house is very close to Prince’s office, so he creates time to visit him from time to time. Prince visited Mr. Anayo on 24th December 2022 and gifted him 25kg of Rice and the sum of N10,000 to celebrate Christmas with his family. The Man broke out in tears. He prayed that God will continue to bless Prince and keep him as a shining light to his generation. Mr. Anayo is blind and survives with his family from the gifts people give him. Considering Mr. Anaya’s critical condition, Prince has decided to add him to his pay list; to be paying him five thousand Naira (N5000) monthly at least for now.
The 2022 edition of the “Prince Nwankwo Food Sharing Exercise” was a huge Success. The 2023 edition will be massive. Engr. Prince Nwankwo looks forward to expanding the project to impact not less than 500 Widows, Physically impaired persons, and less privileged in Anambra State, Nigeria.

About Prince Technology and Community Development Foundation (A registered NGO in Nigeria)

Prince Technology and Foundation is a community of transformational leaders, innovative thinkers, and world changers committed to investing in a new generation of young African leaders and trailblazers who are shaping the continent’s future. We provide cutting-edge ideas, tools, information, mentoring, and technological innovations to inspire, stimulate, spur, and spark the minds of the next generation of young African leaders to be distinct and establish outstanding businesses and technological innovations that can compete globally. We build and strengthen the capacities needed to develop and implement sustainable solutions to better the lives of those we serve (Africans). We work with a wide range of partners across “BEST fields” (Business, Entrepreneurship, Science, and Technology) and are backed by a “think tank” of renowned experts and specialists.

We have continued to be a champion of holistic transformation in Nigeria and the new face of positive change in technological advancements, waste management, clean energy access, clean water access, climate change advocacy, and youth/women empowerment. These efforts have seen us install over 500 Kilowatts of solar energy systems for homes and businesses in Nigeria, recycled over 10 metric tons of waste between 2013 – 2018, provided free water access in 2012 to address water challenge in our local community, impacted over 25,000 Nigerians with marketable skills, and created over 120 new jobs for Nigerian youth along the value chain.

For the past 10 years, our free water access “Prince Tech Water Project” has continued to add smiles on the faces of the members of my community who have suffered so long as a result of unhealthy and unavailability of water supply.

We have directly impacted over 25,000 Nigerians to think beyond the current scope and leverage their talents and skills to better the world around them. We are also; igniting, spurring, and sparking the minds of Africans towards crossing barriers and daring on to achieve outstanding feats in their various endeavours in life.

We have succeeded in making over 10,000 Nigerians understand that country of residence does not change someone’s nature, thus; does not play as much role in success as discovering the talent within and matching it with the opportunities outside. This has helped them discover their potential and prosper in an increasingly competitive global economy and open trading system; leveraging their talent to better their communities. We are committed to addressing power challenges in Nigeria, long-term unemployment, lack of marketable skills among youths, and reducing hunger, among other pressing challenges affecting us as a Nation.
